What did Annelle Gregory do lately?
She won $2,000 and the fourth prize in the Stradivari International Competition in Salt Lake City;
won $6,000 in Musical Merit Auditions;
won 1st Prize and $2,500 in Rancho Bernardo Chorale Competition and gave a solo recital at the Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park on July 15th.

Jasmine Wang performed Tchaikovsky Concerto with San Diego Youth Symphony.

Ryan Park performed Mozart Concerto No.3 with San Diego Youth Sinfonia.

Francesca Dego recorded all 24 caprices by Paganini for Deutsche Grammophon

Carolyn Lee will play the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the San Diego International Youth Symphony on July 27th at the Point Loma Nazarene College.

Announcing the 2011 Fischoff Competition Winners

NOTRE DAME, IN (May 16, 2011) - Out of 48 competing ensembles from across the nation and around the world, the Calidore String Quartet has won the coveted Grand Prize of the 2011 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition ($7,500.00) and the Gold Medal ($3,000.00) in the Senior String Division. Woodwind quintet The City of Tomorrow captured the Gold Medal ($3,000.00) in the Senior Wind Division. In addition to prize money, both ensembles will participate in a Winner's Tour of the Midwestern United States in October, and the Calidore String Quartet will perform several concerts in the Emilia Romagna Festival in Italy in 2012. Calidore members Pasha Tseitlin (violin), Jeffrey Myers (violin), Jeremy Berry (viola) and Estelle Choi (cello) currently study at the Colburn School, Los Angeles, California.

Jasmine Wang won 1st place in senior division of MTAC Concerto Competition and will be performing Paganini's Concerto #1 with the Civic Youth Orchestra at Copley Symphony Hall.

Kalvin Hibiwon 1st place in the junior division of the MTAC Concerto Competition and will be performing Wieniawski's Concerto #2 with the Civic Youth Orchestra at Copley Symphony Hall.

Annelle Gregory won 3rd Prize in the Junior Division of the Sphinx National Competition and performed Mozart's Concerto No. 5 at Detroit Symphony Hall.

Micheal Tseitlin's
"Fantasy on old air of Japan "Sakura" is being recorded on KPBS by Orchestra Nova on 16th of November and will be aired on December 26th at 10:30 on KPBS.
Mr. Tseitlin's Violin and Cello Duo "Who Are You?" was published in Moscow by Jurgenson/Muzyka.

Carolyn Lee won 1st place in The San Diego Youth Symphony Concerto Competition and will play with them Bartok's Concerto No. 2.
Alice Fang received 3rd place.

Annelle Gregory was invited to join the Sphinx Chamber Orchestra on tour for 3 week in October. After the University of N.Y. the chamber orchestra will give eleven concerts throughout the U.S.A. including a Carnegie Hall performance. Annelle Gregory also holds the concertmaster chair with the Civic Youth Orchestra.

Francesca Dego was selected as one of four finalists for prestigious Paganini International Competition in Genoa, Italy. In final round Francesca performed Paganini Concerto No.1 and tchaikovsky Concerto with orchestra.

Tamara Louie received the La Jolla Country Day School Strings Department Award for Excellence for the 5th consecutive year. She also was awarded the Rensselaer Medal and $60,000 academic scholarship and selected Concert Misteress of the La Jolla Country Day School Orchestra.

performed Schubert’s “Death & the Maiden” with Midori, Whittney Thomas and David Mayer.

On October 18 Pasha performed at the Disney Hall with the USC Symphony, Carl St. Clair conducting. As the concertmaster of the USC Symphony he played cadenza solo in the Tower’s Violin Concerto with an associate concertmaster of New York

Philharmonic Michelle Kim (alumna of IMF).

Hayato Ishibashi won 1st prize in 2006 MTAC Concerto Competition and performed Tchaikovsky Concerto with CYO.

Oksana Germain won 3rd prize in 2006 MTAC Concerto Competition.

Hayato Ishibashi won the 1st Prize at American String Teachers Association State Finals Elizabeth Peto received the Middle School Music Department Award for excellence in strings in La Jolla Country Day School.

Whittney Thomas won a $3000 at the Musical Merit Foundation of Greater San Diego scholarship competition

2005 MTAC-San Diego Branch Duo Festival:
 In Category 1 (ages 7 - 9), Oksana & Kaija Germain received honorable mention.
 In Category 2(10 - 12), Oksana Germain & Ayumi Tachikawa received honorable mention.
H.B. Goodlin Scholarship Competition: Whittney Thomas and Hayato Ishibashi won 1st & 2nd places, respectively in the Senior Instrumental Division.  Floyd Oliver received honorable mention.
 
Keita Ishibashi won 1st prize at the 2005 San Diego Symphony Competition and performed Ravel's Tzigane with the SDSymphony on April 27  & 28 at the Copley Symphony Hall.  

Keita Ishibashi  was awarded honorable mention at the La Jolla Symphony Competition.

Hayato Ishibashi won 1st Prize at2005  Young Musicians Foundation's National Debut Competition.

Hayato Ishibashi won 1st prize at 2005 San Diego American String Teachers Association Competition.

Hayato Ishibashi won the silver medal and $2,500 at the 2005 CIYAC Violin Competition.

Whittney Thomas won 2nd prize at 2005 American String Teachers Association competition.
